JOB DESCRIPTION

Our firm is growing and we’re looking for a Senior Tax Accountant

You’ll own a book of dental and medical practice clients, from proactive planning through filing, plus the year-round conversations that actually move the needle for a practice owner. You’ll work directly with our partners, not three layers below them.

The job is not…

  • Overtime and an extreme tax season crunch
  • Grinding through returns with no client contact
  • Putting up with jerks or ungrateful clients
  • Sink or swim without training
  • A seat where you wait years for the interesting work
  • An old school practice with no systems

The job is…

  • Serving doctors and dentists year round, not just in April
  • Direct access to partners who want your opinion
  • Proactive planning work, not just compliance
  • Work-life balance the team actually protects
  • A clear path to manager and beyond
  • Proven systems, modern software, and a collaborative team

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review 1120S, 1065, and 1040 returns for practice owners
  • Lead proactive tax planning meetings with clients each quarter
  • Research technical positions and document conclusions clearly
  • Mentor staff accountants and review their work
  • Spot advisory opportunities and bring them to the partner team

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in public accounting with a tax focus
  • CPA license, or actively sitting for the exam
  • Comfortable talking with business owners, not just spreadsheets
  • Strong written communication, because our clients read what you send

Nice to have

  • Experience with dental, medical, or professional services clients
  • QuickBooks Online and Xero fluency
  • UltraTax or CCH Axcess

Compensation

$85k to $110k depending on experience, plus group health insurance, 401k match, 10 paid holidays, and 13 to 18 vacation days that grow with tenure. You will know exactly what it takes to move up, because the path to manager is written down and reviewed with you twice a year.
